Therapeutic Yoga is a holistic approach to healing.  It applies yoga techniques and practices to empower individuals to improve their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.  It can address a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, PTSD, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, spiritual crisis / times of transition or change and exploration of self forgiveness, self acceptance and self love.  By incorporating breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga postures, therapeutic yoga addresses your specific needs and challenges you would like to overcome.  Therapeutic yoga is different than a yoga class.  You don't need to know yoga to benefit from it and each session is tailored to your specific needs and meets you exactly where you are at.  A therapeutic yoga session will begin with a discussion about what your current needs and hopes are, whether physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or a combination, and will explore a plan to facilitate your unique healing process.  Each session is designed to benefit the uniqueness of each person and their individualized needs and can include somatic therapy, talk therapy, touch, yoga, and other healing modalities to deepen and enrich experience.

IRest Yoga Nidra stands for Integrative Restoration. It is a profound meditative process that teaches us how to carefully and systematically investigate the nature of our beliefs that define our personal identity and differentiate the world around us into separate objects. During Yoga Nidra, we investigate our actual experience so that we can understand the nature of who we actually are and what the world really is. Yoga Nidra helps us investigate and dispel roots of our conditioning that can underlie our perception of reality. It can dissolve the obstacles that stand in the way of our leading an authentic life of purpose and meaning, and for those who are interested, it can awaken us into an enlightened life of self-realization as our True Nature. During Yoga Nidra, you enter a profound state of receptive relaxation, all the while remaining totally aware and alert throughout the process. Yoga Nidra invites your innate intelligence and intrinsic clarity to rise to the surface of your conscious mind, allowing you to uncover and access the wisdom resources of your higher levels of consciousness. Your innate intelligence knows the exact solutions, revelations, and resolutions that you need in order to address all the various issues, problems, questions, and conundrums that you face in your daily life.

Reiki is a Japenese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It’s administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In doing so, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

All of these techniques and processes can be used in combination with talk therapy or as its own session.
